Enamelon® Preventive Treatment Gel

An innovative fluoride treatment for all patient populations

Every once in a while, a new dental product enters the market that just makes sense. Premier Dental Products recently launched Enamelon® Preventive Treatment Gel, which provides 2 times greater fluoride uptake and 3 times greater reduction in enamel solubility, with 80% less fluoride than 5000 ppm fluoride toothpastes.1,2 Premier markets this product as the “New Standard Of Caring.” A review of the research and design philosophy behind this product may help dental professionals understand why.

Enamelon is formulated with stabilized stannous fluoride, optimized with amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) technology, and augmented with substantivity enhancers to offer a home-use therapy for caries prevention, gingivitis, and sensitivity relief. The gentle, non-abrasive formula contains just 970 ppm of fluoride, which means it can be used daily by all members of the family by following the 2014 American Dental Association guidelines.3 You and your patients can enjoy efficacy, versatility, and safety—all in one treatment gel.

All patients can benefit from Enamelon. Enamelon reduces the solubility of enamel2 while interfering with the harmful effects of plaque associated with gingivitis. This combination is a great-tasting, one-step solution to help increase compliance for orthodontic patients. Periodontal patients with exposed root surfaces also benefit from the ACP technology and stannous fluoride working together to help reduce caries and relieve sensitivity through tubular occlusion.2 Enamelon blocks exposed tubules with a combination of stannous ions along with fluoride, calcium, and phosphate salts to create a physical barrier that covers open dentinal tubules to prevent external stimuli from causing pain or discomfort.

The non-abrasive gel (RDA of 8) safely protects teeth while minimizing enamel wear, which is especially helpful for patients with sensitivity, erosion, and thin enamel. Patients who experience tooth staining due to diet or habits may occasionally require more frequent professional cleanings, tooth whitening, or may need to intermittently use a more abrasive toothpaste. Using a toothpaste that’s too abrasive long-term may lead to permanent tooth damage, especially around the gum line.

Enamelon Gel—used once a day, after brushing with a toothpaste—will help strengthen teeth against enamel wear and erosion. Formulated with Ultramulsion®, a patented saliva-soluble coating, Enamelon moisturizes and soothes oral soft tissues. The great-tasting mint flavored formulation is enhanced with spilanthes, a natural herb that encourages salivary flow. This distinctive ingredient allows for the natural remineralizing properties of the patient’s saliva to help maintain equilibrium. Enamelon does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, gluten, or dyes.

Enamelon eliminates the need for remineralizing pastes, prescription-strength toothpastes, and take-home rinses, so your team can stay focused on your patients’ needs. When homecare treatment is required, the choice is simple—Enamelon!
